A professional guitarist all his life, Bill O’Haire has also been teaching guitar for 20 years. He studied with Boston jazz guru Charlie Banacos for 5 years and remains a serious student of the guitar. He is also interested in the music of India, Greece, Ireland, and J.S. Bach.

Bill’s teaching approach stresses the fundamentals of music, i.e. reading, rhythms, and harmony. His basic goal is to teach his students the best technique for helping them realize their musical goals. Besides modern guitar technique, Bill also teaches electric bass and classical guitar.

Bill O’Haire has been playing the guitar for over 30 years professionally and brings to his students vast experience in many styles of music such as rock’n’roll, blues, jazz, and country. He has lived in San Francisco, California, Amsterdam, and Ireland, and has played with many notable musicians such as Mick Avory of The Kinks and Noel Redding of The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Bill has toured the U.S. and Europe extensively and has four recordings under his own name: “Hip Chops,” Tramp Records, Amsterdam, Holland; “London 1990,” Konk Studios, London, England; “Guitar Movies,” Amsterdam, Holland; “Standards 2001,” Scenic Sound Studios, Fairfax, California.
